Johnny Russell, CFA®

I graduated from Colgate University in 2010 with a BA in International Relations. Early in my career, I worked for an energy think-tank in Washington, D.C., researching energy legislation and regulatory policy.

In 2013 I joined a start-up called Health Warrior, at the time a budding brand in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Working for Health Warrior allowed me to move to Colorado and for six years I worked in various sales, marketing, and finance positions to help our team build an incredible business.

When Health Warrior was acquired by PepsiCo in October 2018, I continued to work for the company part-time while also pursuing a Master’s in Applied Quantitative Finance from the University of Denver. Combining my love for economics and business, I focused on investment management and equity analysis in the Master’s program at DU.

In August 2022, I earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation after completing the three years of study and examinations and all required work experience. I am currently a member of the CFA Institute.

In February 2025, I registered for the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) program and am currently studying for the Level 3 exam. I am excited to work towards the CMT designation to further my education and practical skills in technical market analysis, risk management, and behavioral finance.

I am passionate about applying my interest in markets and investing to benefit others. I joined the Peak team in January of 2020 and became a partner of the firm in 2026. As a Partner and Wealth Advisor, I am thrilled to wear many hats at Peak. I particularly enjoy working to build relationships of trust with our clients and the opportunity to help clients simplify and secure their financial lives.

In 2025 our family moved from Denver to the Boston area. We enjoy long walks around our neighborhood, spending time at the local playground, and exploring the greater New England area. We are fortunate to support non-profit organizations back in Colorado like the Growhaus and the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
