I became a principal at Peak in March 2000. Before joining, I worked for ten years as a fee-based investment advisor—first for Hammer Capital Management in Santa Barbara, California and then for my own firm, McCorvie Capital Management in Boulder, Colorado. During that time, I developed knowledge and expertise around all aspects of the advisory business from the ground up, including business operations, business management, portfolio management, and, critically, client service and client relationship development.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Vermont. I graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. I earned my Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1997 after completing the three years of study and examinations and all required work experience. I am also a member of the CFA Institute.
Outside of Peak, I like to spend my time with my wife and two daughters, as well as participating in a variety of activities, including playing music, skiing, playing paddle tennis, swimming, hiking and reading.
I also represent Peak as a partner with SVP Boulder County. SVP has built a community of like-minded people that donate time, talent and money to local nonprofits to help them build their business infrastructure to better pursue their missions.
