Director of Wealth Strategies & Legacy Planning

I joined Peak in December 2023 as a Lead Advisor and as the Director of Wealth Strategies and Legacy Planning. After graduating from Drake Law School and passing the bar exam in 2003, my professional journey began as a practicing attorney in Minnesota. I owned and operated a law practice for over 10 years, representing hundreds of clients in the areas of estate and tax planning, real estate and bankruptcy law.

After arriving in Colorado in 2015, I pivoted into the wealth management industry and found a natural synergy between practicing law and consulting with clients on advanced financial planning matters. Prior to joining the team at Peak, I worked at Colorado Financial Management for over 5 1/2 years as their Director of Financial Planning. Managing a team of financial planners, we handled complex financial, tax, estate and trust planning for clients, focusing on providing actionable solutions in assisting clients with accomplishing their objectives. For me, there is nothing more satisfying than being a fiduciary and simplifying the complex for clients.

In early 2023, I obtained the Accredited Estate Planner designation for having over 15 years experience dedicated to estate, trust, legacy, philanthropic and business succession planning. I maintain my Colorado law license, and am active in the Colorado Bar Association, and the Boulder County Estate Planning Council.

I have an incredibly successful, supportive and loving wife, four fairly rambunctious children, two dogs, a cat, and all kinds of fun and chaos at home! We love to spend time in the mountains skiing at Monarch, getting lost on trails, climbing 14ers, kayaking and paddleboarding. I enjoy traveling and sports, and have spent considerable time over the years as a volunteer coach for my children in football, baseball, softball and basketball. One of my children has a disability, so I stay very involved in the disability community, and have spent time on the Board of Directors at the Colorado Fund for People with Disabilities.

I enjoy reading books with my children and freelance writing when I can find the time.
